This
is my first attempt at taking a picture of Saturn using the Meade LPI camera,
although it is quite blurry and small you can just make out the colours of Saturn
and see the rings and the division in the rings.
This
is another attempt of the Moon series using the Meade LPI of the southern crater
lands, again the slight blurring is from the Moon moving as the camera takes
the pictures.
This
is another attempt on the same night of the full moon. I felt that this picture
came out better than the other, much sharper and you can see more detail. The
slight blurring is from the moon moving while the camera was taking the picture.
This
is one of the first pictures I tried taking with my Meade LPI webcam of the
full moon. After trying to find the moon using the system and trying to compensate
for the fast angular speed I got this result, bit blurry. But the area is the
Hipparchus crater region.
I
took this not really sure what the results would be, I used a "star"
filter from the camera kit and got this. It actually gave me a few ideas for
some paintings rather than any actual astronomy value.
This
is part of the second set of photos I took, I can't honestly remember what constellation
it is! But it is only 1 of 3 out of 36 that worked. I kept it on the equatorial
so that it avoided the star trails as much as possible.
This is a picture of Jupiter taken
during 2002, its the brightest line in the middle. I had just started with
astrophotography and this was one of the first pictures that worked, in that
I got a result! But my camera didn't have a motor and so I ended up with star
trails.
Astrophotos
This is the astrophotos page, at
the moment it is just my own work. But feel free to send in your own photos
or even artwork for the site, just send it to this
email address with the photo as an attachment in either
Jpeg or Png format. Along with details of what you used to take it, exposure
time, camera etc and most importantly what it is!
Here are a few of mine. Just click on the thumbnail to bring up a bigger version
of it.
This
is my first attempt to create a digital starfield in photoshop, using a technique
a friend directed me to on the net, this is created using layers for each element,
including each star flare and even the dust! I have made a few more since this
one and will be putting a few more up in the near future.
